This video gives you a very simple illustration of the cytoskeleton.

The cytoskeleton is made up of three types of protein fibers.
The largest in diameter are the microtubules which are made of tubulin. Microtubules help create mitotic division spindle fibers, flagella, and cilia.
Intermediate filament made of strong fibrous protein
Microfilaments which are made of actin are the smallest of the fibers that make the cytoskeleton.
The cytoskeleton has several main functions.
