This blew my mind. Marlin should have turned into a female and mated with Nemo. I'm told that lots of people knew this already. I heard it for the first time on the Great Barrier Reef!

Clownfish are "sequential hermaphrodites" which move from male to female (Protandry). Most sequential hermaphrodites move from female to male (Protogyny).
