Definition of an Inscribed angles of a Circle

Transcript "Inscribed angles, Intercepted Arcs"
We have some vocabulary to start with. So let's go ahead and jump in. At the top I have a where's Waldo, and the reason there is a "where's Waldo" is because we are always looking to see where the angle is, and if the vertex of the angle is inscribed, a central angle, or on the outside. So the "Where's Waldo" we ask "Where is the vertex" for the angle ? Where is the vertex on an inscribed angle? An inscribed angle is always identified with a circle and the vertex is on the circle. So I will draw a point on the circle, and then draw an angle inside the circle. This angle is an inscribed angle, and the vertex falls on the circle. An inscribed angle is an angle where the vertex falls on the circle. So that is the definition of an inscribed angle. We are referring to this angle. An intercepted arc. Let's first draw a picture so you can see what an intercepted arc looks like. If you have an inscribed angle, the intercepted arc is the arc that is associated with the intercepted angle. It is the arc that is basically right here. The red highlights the intercepted arc. It is the arc associated with the inscribed angle. An intercepted arc is the arc that falls inside the mouth of the inscribed angle. Central angles have intercepted arcs, inscribed angles have intercepted arcs, so it is any arc that is intercepted by the sides of the angle.
