Description: In this task students will find the ratio of coefficients of the variables and ratio of
constant terms. They will represent the given pair of linear equation graphically and will
comment upon the consistency and inconsistency of linear equations.
Execution: Worksheets will be distributed to the students and they will solve the questions as
directed in the worksheet. They will comment upon consistency and inconsistency of the given
equation. Teacher will take a follow up session in which the questions will be discussed.

Pair of linear equations in two variables is a unit in which both algebra and coordinate
geometry shares equal role Using algebra, a real life problem can be translated into abstract
expression involving coefficients and variables. The algebraic problems can be solved either
using coordinate geometry (graph of linear equations) or through pure algebraic approach.
