Salts are formed by the reaction of acids and bases .salts are formed in neutralisation reaction .
pH of salts :
Salts of strong acid and strong base are neutral .so pH =7.
Salts of strong acid and weak base are acidic.so pH less than 7.
Salts of weak acid and strong base are basic.so pH greater than 7.
Common salt (NaCl) is a neutral salt.
Seawater contains many salts dissolved in it . Deposits of large crystal solid salt which is brown in colour is called as rock salt.
