Interactive video lesson plan for: ChinesePod ASMR Edition: Our NEW Mandarin Chinese Learning Method

Activity overview:

We recommend wearing headphones for this announcement.

Starting today, ChinesePod has decided to try a different teaching methodology: teaching with ASMR. Despite podcasting for over 10 years, our actual approach to teaching hasn't changed that much.

But now EVERYTHING has changed! We have discovered something much better: ASMR!

ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is a "euphoric experience characterized by a static-like, or any sort of tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine, precipitating relaxation." This euphoric experience is often reached by listening to crinkly noises, soft whispers, and other light noises.

Teaching using ASMR will not only speed up your Mandarin language acquisition, but it will put you in a relaxed state of mind, ready to fall asleep and allow your brain to soak up the Chinese words. We recommend you don't take our brand new ASMRclasses while using heavy machinery, driving, or whilst cycling since you could fall asleep.
