# Interactive video lesson plan for: Ratios, Proportions, Rates and Linear Relationships

#### Activity overview:

In this video I solve questions from the ratios, proportions, rates and linear relationships unit test. If you've received this test or math packet, please attempt all questions first before watching the video. Then watch the video to check your answers and even grade your work according to the number of available points less any mistakes.

Proportional reasoning is a very important topic that will affect you throughout your life. You need to understand scale and proportionality in order to:
1. budget and calculate the best deals
2. exchange money for spending abroad
3. preparing recipes and baking
4. home improvement - mixing concrete and calculating the amount of paint needed to cover a wall)
5. measuring growth and other rates including speed
6. planning parties (scaling and grouping items)
7. have a useful method to calculate percents of other numbers

So work through the questions in the packet and make sure you understand everything by pausing and playing (while working!)
