Nature of roots of quadratic equations
00:02 Q1. Find the nature of the roots of the following quadratic equations. If the real roots exist, find them:(i) 2 x^2– 3 x + 5 = 0 (ii) 3 x^2 – 4 3 x + 4 = 0 (iii) 2 x^2 – 6x + 3 = 0
00:31 Discriminant of Quadratic Equation
00:58 Discriminant less than zero.No real roots exits.
01:55 Detemine discriminant of Quadratic Equation

04:02 (iii) Nature of roots of quadratic equations Discriminant based practise question.
Standard form of quadratic equation
First combine all the like terms in the quadratic equation.
Secondly, degree of each term must drop from left to right starting from 2.
Nature of roots
In the standard form of quadratic equation ax^2 + bx + c = 0, the value D=b^2-4ac is called Discriminant of quadratic equation.Based on Discriminant, we say real roots or not exist for a quadratic equation or not.Group of problems are solved on Nature of roots of quadratic equation.
Nature of roots of quadratic equation.
If Discriminant D greater than 0 then real roots exist.
If Discriminant D less than 0 then no real roots exist.
If Discriminant D=0 then roots are equal.
