In this video, Division Algorithm for polynomials is stated.Polynomials are divided using Division Algorithm. This division is also known as Long Division Polynomials.Division of polynomials is carried in three steps which are explained.Procedure for long division is provided for additional use.Factors of polynomials are determined by long division.Factoring of polynomials is based on Division Algorithm for polynomials

00:02 Q2. Check whether the first polynomial is a factor of the second polynomial by dividing the

second polynomial by the first polynomial:

00:33 (i) Is the polynomial t^2 – 3 is a factor of the polynomial 2t^4 + 3 t^3 – 2 t^2 – 9 t – 12.

00:38 Procedure for Division Algorithm for polynomials

01:03 Step 1 To obtain the first term of the quotient, divide the highest degree term of the dividend by the highest degree term of the divisor .Then carry out the division process. What remains is our new dividend

01:30 Step 2 : Now, to obtain the second term of the quotient, divide the highest degree term of the new dividend by the highest degree term of the divisor.Again carry out the division process.

01:45 Step 3 : Carry the division process untill the degree of the remainder is less than the degree of the divisor

05:40 (ii) Is the polynomial x^2 + 3 x + 1 is a factor of the polynomial 3 x^4 + 5 x^3 – 7 x^2 + 2 x + 2
