To understand the Algebraic interpretation and graphical representation i.e. intersecting lines implies unique solution, coinciding lines implies infinite solution and parallel lines implies no solution.
Description: In this video students will learn to relate graphical solutions and their algebraic interpretation.
Execution: Teacher will find and plot the ordered pairs on the graph paper. Students will be asked to plot a pair of linear equation in two variables on the same Cartesian plane. They will find the graphical solution and will relate it to their algebraic interpretation.
00:02 Q1. Aftab tells his daughter, “Seven years ago, I was seven times as old as you were then.
Also, three years from now, I shall be three times as old as you will be.” (Isn’t this
interesting?) Represent this situation algebraically and graphically.
00:25 Synthesis of information
00:55 Framing an equation using given condition.
01:28 Framing an equation with other condition.
02:00 Algebraical representation of given condition.
02:20 graphical representation
02:35 find at least 2 ordered pairs of the given equation.
04:06 find ordered pairs of equation.
05:10 plotting ordered pairs on same Cartesian plane
06:15 read the common point of intersection of lines when 2 equations are plotted on the same Cartesian plane.
06:40 Q2. The coach of a cricket team buys 3 bats and 6 balls for Rs 3900. Later, she buys another
bat and 2 more balls of the same kind for Rs 1300. Represent this situation algebraically
and geometrically.
06:58 Synthesis of information
07:24 Framing an equation using given condition.
08:05 Framing an equation
08:40 Algebraical representation of given condition
how to graph a linear equation in two variables
09:14 find at least 2 ordered pairs of the given equation
12:20 make a table of ordered pairs (x,y) satisfying the given linear equation in two variables.
12:40 plot the ordered pairs on the graph paper
13:25 plot a pair of linear equation in two variables on the same Cartesian plane
13:40 read the point of intersection of the two lines and thus find the solution of pair of linear equations graphically
