Interactive video lesson plan for: Mr. A's Geometry Rap

Activity overview:

Click for Lyrics:
This year in my Geometry class, I offered my students an opportunity to earn extra credit by writing a math themed rap or song parody. Some of my kids got really into it, and I decided to do one myself. Here's my parody of "Rehab" by Amy Winehouse and Jay Z. I hope you enjoy!

Subtraction postulate you know it's gonna take 3 steps
Taking notes in the back
TEST- gonna ace it next week, you know how I rock

Started in 7th grade, integers I'm in a daze
My proofs so smooth you know it's true I never miss no steps
Where'd my professor go, man I am outta control
Try to make me go to mathlab, I won't go no.

So I'm addicted to logic proof and conjecture,
Mr. Murphy ain't ready for it ain't nuthin can stop me
Oh look he's relaxin, just look how he's factorin
Every time I try to get out it pulls me back in.
There's lots of action when you're, solving a complex fraction
This stuff called mathematics, man it's my passion, I
keep learning things that are new, watching my skills grow
I'm gonna keep learning my whole life, I hope that you will too!
