(September 14, 2010) Stanford University welcomed the Class of 2014 and transfer students during its 120th Convocation exercises. The ceremony took place in the main quad in front of an audience of students, parents, and trustees.
The annual convocation is the traditional welcoming ceremony for freshman and officially opens the academic year. The 2010 ceremony featured Stanford President John Hennessy, Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education Harry Elam, Dean of Admission Richard Shaw, and Class of 2011 member Zev Karlin-Neumann.
