This is part two of multiplying the times tables with your hands
First you will notice that I have my hands numbered.
Starting at your pinky each side is the same
This trick works really well if you are having a hard time memorizing your times tables or just give you another tool.
Lets get started with multiplying 7 times 9 because it is a little tricky
I touch the 7 on the left to the nine on the right
I next count the number of fingers above the fingers touching. I have three on this side and one on the other side and I multiply the left times the right.
3 x 1 = 3
For each finger touching or below I add 10
10 20 30 40 50 60
60 + 3 = 63
7 times 9 = 63
Next, multiply 6 times 8
Touch the 6 to the 8
I have 1 2 3 4 times 2 = 8
I have 1 2 3 4 below
That would be 40 plus 8 = 48
How about 8 times 7
Touch 8 on the left, 7 on the right
2 on this side and 3 on the other side which equals 6
Below I have 1 2 3 4 5
and that would be 56
Next 6 times 9
Touch the 6 to the 9 and I have 4 above, and one on the other side and 1 times 4 = 4
I then have 1 2 which is 20 30 40 50 and 50 plus 4 = 54
Finally, 6 times 7
I have 1 2 3 4 and 3 on the other side.
3 times 4 = 12
Add that to 30 and that equals 42
Anyway, this is a fun way to multiply with your hands and it does come in handy for multiplying 6 7 8 9
