Expecting to respond to a call about a single carpet python, a snake catcher discovered the python in question was actually a mother and her eggs. Measuring in at over six feet, the python had been seen repeatedly in a family's patio in Queensland, Australia. By sunning herself on the warm patio stones, she would then transfer the warmth to her clutch of 16 eggs, which she was incubating under a nearby bench.
Both the mother and her young were removed in order to be released a safe distance from family patios. For the egg's safety/protection, they will be artificially incubated by Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers, taking up to two months to hatch.
