Substances which are formed by the reaction of acids and bases are called as Salts. Common salt is an example of salt .
These solutions do not change the colour of either red or blue litmus .so they are known as neutral solutions. These substances are neither acidic nor basic. So the process of formation of salts is called as Neutralisation .
Their pH is equal to 7.
