To understand the Algebraic interpretation of graphical representation i.e. intersecting lines implies unique solution, coinciding lines implies infinite solution and parallel lines implies no solution.
Description: In this video students will learn to relate graphical solutions and their algebraic
interpretation.
Execution: Teacher will find and plot the ordered pairs on the graph paper. Students will be asked to plot a pair of linear equation in two variables on the same Cartesian plane. They will find the graphical solution and will relate it to their algebraic interpretation.

00:02 Q1. Form the pair of linear equations in the following problems, and find their solutions
graphically.
00:18 (i) 10 students of Class X took part in a Mathematics quiz. If the number of girls is 4
more than the number of boys, find the number of boys and girls who took part in
the quiz.
00:35 Synthesis of information in given word problem.
01:20 Framing equations using given condition.
02:07 Algebraical representation of given condition
02:12 how to graph a linear equation in two variables
02:45 03:25 04:45 find at least 2 ordered pairs of the system of linear equation
05:07 make a table of ordered pairs (x,y) satisfying the given linear equation in  two variables.
05:20 plot the ordered pairs on the graph paper
06:50 plot a pair of linear equation in two variables on the same Cartesian plane
07:30 read  the point of intersection of the two lines and thus find the solution of pair of linear equations graphically.

08:52 (ii) 5 pencils and 7 pens together cost Rs 50, whereas 7 pencils and 5 pens together
cost Rs 46. Find the cost of one pencil and that of one pen.
09:18 Synthesis of information in given word problem.
09:50 Framing equations using given condition.
10:43 Algebraical representation of given condition
11:07 how to graph a linear equation in two variables
12:50 14:32 find at least 2 ordered pairs of the system of linear equation
14:51 make a table of ordered pairs (x,y) satisfying the given linear equation in  two variables.
15:05 plot the ordered pairs on the graph paper
16:10 plot a pair of linear equation in two variables on the same Cartesian plane
16:48 read  the point of intersection of the two lines and thus find the solution of pair of linear equations graphically.

17:56 Q2. On comparing the ratios a1/b1 , a2/b2 and a3/b3 , find out whether the lines representing the following pairs of linear equations intersect at a point, are parallel or coincident:
18:52 (i) 5 x – 4 y + 8 = 0 ; 7 x + 6 y – 9 = 0
(ii) 9x + 3 y + 12 = 0 ; 18 x + 6 y + 24 = 0
(iii) 6 x – 3 y + 10 = 0 2 x – y + 9 = 0
18:38 Procedure to find the ratios
19:15 ratio of coefficients of x
19:23 ratio of coefficients of y
19:30 ratio of constant terms
relate relationship of ratios and their graphical representation
a1/b1 , a2/b2 and c1/c2
19:50 a1/b1 is not equal to a2/b2.graphical representation of system of linear equation is intersecting
relate relationship of ratios and their graphical representation
a1/b1 , a2/b2 and c1/c2

20:51 (ii) 9x + 3 y + 12 = 0 ; 18 x + 6 y + 24 = 0
21:32 Find ratio of coefficients of x
21:39 Find ratio of coefficients of y
21:50 Find ratio of constant terms
22:40 (iii) 6 x – 3 y + 10 = 0 2 x – y + 9 = 0
23:22 Find the ratio a1/b1 , a2/b2 and c1/c2
23:50 Find the relation between these ratios
24:01 Relate relationship of ratios and their graphical representation
