Interactive video lesson plan for: Teaching methods: Why I leave the lights off

Activity overview:

In this teaching methods video I give a quick explanation on why I leave the lights on while I teach. The classroom environment is a fragile thing. The simplest thing can have a major impact. I discovered a few years back that if I have adequate natural lighting in my classroom, there is no need for the lights. Keeping the lights off, from my experience, keeps my students calm and quiet. Having a few lamps around the room can also help with lighting. See what works for you. Give teaching without the lights a try and see how you like it.
