What's going up in New York? Unfortunately, unemployment. More than one million New Yorkers are looking for work. What's also rising? A record number of New Yorkers enrolled at our community colleges. Hundreds of thousands of students looking for job training and retraining, and a higher education that is increasingly vital for a good job in the twenty-first century economy. For many, community colleges are a first step to success. But the state's cut $68 million from their budget in the last two years. And now, Albany's threatening to cut millions more. Cuts that will cap student enrollment, and slam the door on thousands of working families trying to get ahead. Now, more than ever, we need to open the doors to opportunity. For New Yorkers. For our economy. For our future.
Tell Albany, don't cut our community colleges.
