Interactive video lesson plan for: Classrooms Under Construction: Integrating Student-Centered Learning with Technology

Activity overview:

This video portrays students, teachers, and principals from culturally diverse schools across the Southwest in the process of constructing learner-centered classrooms using technology. Through learner-centered professional development activities, teachers have the opportunity to experience for themselves the power of learning in this manner. Armed with this knowledge and support from principals, they gain the courage to make the transition from the traditional teacher-centered classroom to a more dynamic and creative learning environment.

Depicted stages and strategies for constructing learner-centered classrooms include: Letting Go, Making Connections, Building Teachers' Knowledge, Getting Support from Others, Integrating Technology, Giving Students Ownership, Changing Classroom Structures, and Creating Knowledge Together.

Note: While the concepts demonstrated in the video remain valid, the video was created in 2000 and may use obsolete technologies such as diskettes. In addition, the video may not demonstrate modern technologies that are now commonplace.
