Analysing Political CartoonsPolitical cartoons can be extremely valuable historical sources. We can use them to analyse feelings and perspectives of a time-period. Much like analysing art the message is not always clear- they use imagery, satire, exaggeration and other methods to portray their message.

When analysing cartoons you MUST refer to specific details/evidence from the cartoon and from the caption.

Origin: Who? What? When?
Purpose: Why? For who?
Value: How is this source useful for historians? What can we learn from it?
Limitations: How is this source not useful? What does it not tell us?
