A magnetic domain is a region in which the magnetic fields of atoms are grouped together and are aligned with each other. A paper clip can be turned into a magnet by rubbing a strong magnet several times over the surface of it. More you rub the magnet over the paper clip, the stronger the paper clip will become magnetized. It happens due to rubbing , some of the magnetic domains in paper clip get aligned and the metal becomes partially magnetized. When we rub the magnet over the metal a second time, more of the magnetic domains become aligned and the metal becomes a stronger magnet.
